How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Adding Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to your Lone Star Data Ranch account provides an extra layer of security. Once enabled, you’ll need both your password and a one-time authentication code to access your account. Follow these steps to set up 2FA for added protection.
Step-by-Step Guide to Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

Log into the Client Area
- Go to the Lone Star Data Ranch Client Area.
- Enter your email and password to log in.

Navigate to Security Settings
- From the dashboard, click on Hello, [Your Name] in the top-right corner.
- Select Security Settings from the dropdown to open the security options for your account.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication
- Under the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Enable 2FA.
- You’ll be guided through the setup process, which includes using an authentication app to generate one-time codes.

Download an Authenticator App
- If you don’t already have one, download an authenticator app on your mobile device, such as:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Microsoft Authenticator

Scan the QR Code
- Using your authenticator app, scan the QR code displayed in the Client Area. This will link your Lone Star Data Ranch account to the app and generate time-based authentication codes.

Enter the Verification Code
- After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will display a one-time code.
- Enter this code in the Verification Code field in the Client Area, then click Verify.

2FA Enabled Confirmation
- Once verified, you’ll see a confirmation that 2FA has been enabled on your account. Going forward, you’ll need to enter a code from your authenticator app each time you log in, in addition to your password.
Disabling Two-Factor Authentication
If you need to disable 2FA in the future:

Go to Security Settings
- Log in to the Client Area, go to Hello, [Your Name] > Security Settings.

Disable 2FA
- Under the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Disable 2FA and confirm your choice.
- 2FA will be turned off, and you’ll no longer need an authentication code to log in.

- Backup Your 2FA Codes: Many authenticator apps offer backup options. Be sure to keep a backup or record of your 2FA setup in case you lose access to your device.
